Tell us about one thing you are working on?
As we approach the end of 2020 and Christmas break, I'm really focused on recharging and spending quality time with my family. This school semester was challenging to adjust to in the beginning and it really took a toll on my mental health. I hope to prepare myself better for the new year and semester, and not let myself forget about self-care this time!
How has time spent inside during quarantine changed you as a person? Do you feel these changes would have happened without quarantine?
I think quarantine has made me get more in touch with my mental health. I've had so much time to just reflect and sort out my feelings towards things that used to make me uncomfortable. I don't think this would have happened otherwise- just the essence of so much unoccupied time has helped me a lot.
What’s something underrated that you feel needs more recognition by society?
I think Black and darker-skinned Asians are underrated and under-appreciated. There is such a stigma towards darker skin- I have many Indian friends that wish they were lighter in complexion and avoid the sun like the plague in fear of getting darker. I wish they were more embraced and celebrated by society.
Quarantine helped us spend more time with ourselves, what makes you feel beautiful during COVID times?
Trying on many clothes from my new online shopping problem.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty is superficial and doesn’t last forever - it’s what’s on the inside that matters 😌✨
If there was one thing (product, place or person) that you could not live without, what would it be? Why?
My phone is my holy grail, I use it everyday. It keeps me connected to my family and friends (especially because of COVID), informed of what's going on in the world and it takes my pictures and videos haha.
